The Bay City Public Schools offer a variety of learning experiences in career awareness, exploration, training, and preparation. WORK-BASED LEARNING is a broad term that covers a variety of structured career exploration and workplace skill-building experiences. A few examples of work-based learning experiences include guest speakers, career fairs, mock interviews, job shadows, as well as on-the-job training with regular hours and responsibilities. Many activities involve sustained interactions with employers or community professionals in real workplace settings, or simulated settings, with the tasks required of a given career field, that are aligned to curriculum and instruction.
